i LOVE fridays!

fridays are always such a great day. you know that the weekend is here. just makes me so happy. this morning i picked up my friends Dwayne & Robin and their amazing kids Taylor & Todd. they just finished a two week trip to New Zealand and they loved it. they kindly loaned me their car while they were away, such a blessing.

i also took my 5th & 6th grade cooking class to Safeway today. i am so excited about these classes! i should back up a little and explain. one of our responsibilities on campus is to have an Ohana Contribution. these are areas where we joyfully serve in another department. i am SUPER blessed to be able to teach cooking to a group of 5th & 6th graders and 7th & 8th graders. i have four students in each group, for an eight week course. i started us off by learning how to select a recipe. their first week of homework was to choose a recipe in the following categories: Main Dish, Side Dish, Salad, and Dessert. they each presented their recipes the following week in class. then we all voted on which recipe we would make as a class. it was so much fun to see what they chose and why. then they learned how to take a recipe and make it into a shopping list. this week we went to the grocery store and learned how to select items that fit into our budget and to establish a budget. it was fun to help them figure out when a generic is a great option to save some money, and when it may be worth it to spend a little more on a brand name product. THESE STUDENTS ARE SO SMART!! they caught on so quickly. i think i have a few future chefs on my hands. this makes my heart so happy! next week we start cookin' things!

our A&E prayer set today was incredible. christ, one of our speakers this week on campus, came and shared his heart with us. he brought a word about not comparing yourself to others. he shared his own personal testimony about not praying on the mic cuz he was comparing himself to other leaders in the organization he worked with for years. it was such a great word to us. he also went on to say that we cant be affected by people saying we did a good job or their lack of words meaning that maybe we didn't do such a great job. we need to rest in knowing what God says about us and knowing how pleased He is with what we do for Him. it was one of those types of words that can shape a life. a deep, deep truth that once grasped, changes how we look at everything. after chris spoke, my friend david gave us an update on his trip to Los Angeles last week. (we prayed for him and his team a couple weeks ago before he left) it was great to hear about how GVS (Global Virtual Studio) was so well rec'd. this technology is gonna be industry transforming! david shared about some of his new projects. we all got so excited and hopeful they will get funded and become the amazing films we all know they can be. that is all i can share for now, as things come together, i will share more.

i had the most fun filled evening taking the madi, kenna & liam to see Tooth Fairy tonite. mom & dad were on a date. baths, jammies & tunies...and america's funniest home videos. now jude and i are gonna make some cupcakes for kenna's birthday party tomorrow.

nighty nite.

day three. rain makes me feel at home.

for some odd reason i feel a bit sluggish this week. cant seem to get enough sleep to wake up refreshed. might be fighting something. only symptom is feeling super tired. well, and a bit of achiness...but it shall pass.

our prayer room set was beautiful today. levi & lindy did a marvelous job of leading us in worship. thank you! after the set we had an amazing couple of hours learning about writing. writing songs in particular, which I am not really feeling called to do. i DO however feel lead to write books. so i felt it would be a good place to hear how others write from the heart. it was great.

chris dupree is speaking this week in our corporate DTS times. i met him tonite after the writers seminar. he is one of my new favorite people. he has a long history with IHOP. and currently lives in Nashville. Nashville always gets my attention, for obvious reasons. AND, he is in route to LA some time in the nearer future. so that too of course peaks my interest. all that said, we are having lunch tomorrow. cant wait to hear his story and his heart. he is gonna help me with a piece for our A&E prayer set friday. yippee!

it rained this evening. which i love. it makes me think of home. but it makes me miss my family and friends too. the only problem is that it feels like you could slice the air with a knife. SO MUGGY!! it needs to rain again.

i skipped our team dessert nite. i was just feeling so tired, and i needed to run a few errands before i have to give the car i am driving back. my friends dwayne & robin loaned it to me while they were out of town for a couple weeks in New Zealand. thanks guys, HUGE blessing. it feels weird to miss dessert nite, it is like the thing i always do on wednesdays. i miss my kids!

i am sooooo tired, i am heading to bed.

day two. good friends, good times. [posted on day three, stinkin internet]

we had a great team staff mtg today. God is doing so much globally in the church. so good to hear it and feel His heart in it all.

our campus staff mtg was great too. two good friends; Johnny & Jeremy went to Haiti last week. they gave a report back today. there are amazing things happening in Haiti right now! The Spirit of the Lord is invading that nation. and we are crying out for more!! GOD LOVES HAITI!! it is time for the restoration of this nation, spiritually and physically.

we ended up around our dining room table again this evening for dinner. we each kind of brought something from campus, or fixed up something from home. sam change joined us. us was me (of course), sarah, lindy, jaimie, krista. it was great. sam and i were having a mtg about a party he is planning for his outreach team. he asked me to help him plan it. he is doing a formal-ish meal on february 13th. so we planned a menu and decorations. it's is going to be beautiful and honoring too! sam is an amazing young man. sometimes we joke that he make actually be an angel :-)

after dinner sarah, krista, jaimie and i headed out to ryan and rosie's house. they live up on the mountain. i love it at their home. it is so peaceful and welcoming. our friend jeremy curry was there too. we all hung out and had yummy drinks like chocolate milk, hot tea and some blendy drink ryan had - i think a protien shake or something. then we dove into the Word. we read thru Revelation Chapter 1. we had a great discussion about end times and Israel. it makes me sad how much misunderstanding there is about Israel in the church. my love for Israel has grown so much recently. beautiful, just beautiful.

i have the best friends in the world. both those here in kona and spread out all over. i really really miss my oregon peeps. but they are always close in my heart. relationship is such a divine blessing. i live to celebrate life and love!

up early tomorrow morning for a one on one with a DTS student. should be great! i LOVE people. and talking. and listening. and did i say people?!!

day one. january 25 twenty ten - Jesus loves avacado & tomato sandwiches

i have such a deep joy today. i spent some quality time with my friend Michelle, she is truly a saint and a warrior. i want to know God's Word like her. we had a cup of tea and shared life. so lovely. we sat on my little lanai (balcony for non-hawaii-ers). we have a beautiful view of the ocean, so that makes it even more lovely. my spirit was so encouraged by our time together!!

Jesus told me to make avocado & tomato sandwiches on whole grain bread for dinner. i love it when He is specific with me. He told me to make in for myself and my roommates. i thought that lindy would be the only one to be home, so i text her. when she walked thru the door a few minutes later it was with Krista. Yippee i said! then my amazing friend jaimie came walking in (from the airport) and eventually sarah came home too. i made us all sandwiches. it was such a lovely time with my girls! i LOVE making meals for people i love. so fulfilling! we all sad and talked about life and what the Lord is doing. THIS IS WHAT I LIVE FOR! i so love my beautiful girls! particularly my roomies: Krista, Lindy & Sarah. we all share a condo, almost on campus, but not quite. this is really great cuz we have a full kitchen and privacy, but can walk to whatever we need on campus. God is good! i will tell you more about my girls (and for that matter, my guys) in blogs to come....stay tuned.

i am sitting in my living room writing. our condo is very close to our campus prayer room. (the Go Center for those who are familiar with the kona campus.) every monday nite this term there is ministry nite. so i write while being serinaded with the most heavenly music. gorgeous! michael & angela pinkston are here this week. they are AMAZING worship leaders. they are pastors with the Vineyard in Albany Oregon. it is a tremendous blessing to have them with us this week. Yay God!

ok, i am gonna go watch a little tele before bed time. g'nite.
